I am a display snob. That's honestly the biggest reason I got rid of mine. I think the original LCD is hands down the worst display on any handheld. The 1080P 120HZ IPS on the Ally is a very nice looking one. I just wish they bumped it up to 8." It made a bigger difference on Switch 2 than expected

Don't get me wrong I think the Steam Deck is a fantastic device, I played mine a lot before Ally. And there will always be diminishing returns the more you spend. I mostly use my handheld to stream locally from my desktop and picking up an SD OLED just for that screen even tho it's lower resolution

Not really sure how you could get that vibe for versatility. I can't even play half of my main games on the steam deck. Or game pass games. And it is way more limited in what you can do with it as an actual computer. It's a good device for the price, but it's comparing apples and oranges.

What's better is subjective. I sold my Steam Deck when I got the original ROG Ally. Compared to the steam deck, this has a higher resolution screen, higher refresh rate screen, access to all of your games, 2x battery size, and WAY more performance. Both will do the job but Ally does it much better.
