Yeah, I don't have high hopes for the feds following the law at this point, but I'm glad council is still trying.

The conversations that matter are between recent immigrants. I see some wanting ICE out. I see some say they need an office here.

My family literally "immigrated" on the Mayflower so I don't know if Zoom appointments are always allowed.

I was initially pissed about what I heard as "Abolish ICE but actually let's keep ICE here."

But then I saw council taking steps to do everything they could think of, including revoking the permit.

I think the angry folks don't realize that the process is moving (probably because Insta).

ICE Sent 600 Immigrant Kids to Detention in Federal Shelters This Year. It’s a New Record. Under a zero tolerance policy, the first Trump administration separated immigrant children from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border. New data suggests separations are happening all over the count...

NEW: Since the start of this year, more than 600 immigrant children have been placed in government shelters by ICE.

That number, which has not been previously reported, is the highest since recordkeeping began a decade ago.

ICE kidnapped a 17-year-old U.S. citizen named Christian Jimenez. Jimenez, a high school senior born in Newberg, Oregon, was driving on his school’s lunch break when ICE/CBP agents stopped his car, smashed his window, and abducted him on November 21, 2025.
