This morning, the Trump Administration’s Department of War gave me an ultimatum: call up your troops, or we will. It is absolutely outrageous and un-American to demand a Governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will.

More than seven years ago I wrote that we in America are going to need a South Africa style Commission. "In a step towards restorative justice, South Africa took the unusual step of forming the Truth and Reconciliation Commission." It is even more imperative today.

Some times in America we have the exact right President in office to lead in crucial moments (i.e. Lincoln). But at other times we have the exact wrong President in office (i.e. Andrew Johnson). Today we have the worst President in our history in office at a most crucial moment.

Today in 1963, 4 young girls are killed by white racists as a bomb explodes during Sunday morning services in the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL: Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson & Carol Denise McNair. Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words lead to hateful actions.

Trump approval has reached new low in latest PEW poll. His approval is 38 to 60 disapproval, a net -22. He is down among all groups, even falling a bit among GOP where he was a high of 95% in Jan., and is now at 85%. His numbers are worse now than they were in the 2018 midterms when Dems won big.

These aren't the actions of a political party aspiring to get reelected.

These are the actions of an authoritarian regime that does not intend to honor elections ever again.

Given WH episode, Ukrainian mineral deal may end up benefiting Europe, not the US. Europeans may decline to support the US in facing China. EU may offer lucrative free trade deals to Canada and Mexico and decline US LNG.

📌NOTE: Immediately after the vile attack on Zelensky by Putin's puppets Friday, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries should have called a joint press conference and explained to the American public the significance, heinousness and danger of that sickening surrender.
