Our body weight is a thing the nervous system remembers. That means that when we loose weight, it remembers the previous set point and will actively try to gain weight back thinking it’s doing a good job keeping you alive. Large bodies are beautiful bodies and there is NOTHING wrong with size.

Have a bad back or a bad knee and are getting old? Good luck loosing weight. Post menopausal with reduced metabolism? Good luck with the above. Have food insecurity? Good luck finding health options to eat. Have a family history of diabetes? You’re likely to get it too but when you are 50 or 60.

This is entirely amoral, ignorant and unethical. Because Mango Face and his friends are complete idiots, we have to remind EACH OTHER actual science, truth and ethics with DEPTH.

Obesity is classified when BMI is above 30, but this number does a shitty job considering for different body types.

Um T1DM is not entirely genetic. In fact it’s believed to be an autoimmune disease while genetic T1DM is quite rare. Conversely there are certainly genetic links in Type 2 and possibly type 1.5 and 3. Additionally there is rare drug induced diabetes from chemotherapeutic agents and stuff…

Also I don’t have time to articulate these reasons. Health care is NOT a commodity- it is a fundamental human right. Talk to a health care provider in person about your options and vote for a system that destroys our profit based system and demands doctors have more time to do their job.

I am a primary care practitioner and I prescribe hormone replacement therapy. This is the STUPIDEST article I have read in so long and is evident that since NPR lost funding they rely on piss poor journalism and lack the capacity to hire actual scientists with writing. I’m offended by this.

Lastly, it should be illegal for any politician to EVER receive money from HC insurance or pharmaceutical companies. Medicine commercials NEED to stop. Productivity should stop being the standard. Elders should never be newly homeless or with a doctor who no longer accepts their insurance…

If the fascists continue to control HOW MEDICINE is practiced, many people like me will end up in jail or dead. Hence, until the fundamental problem is addressed and they STOP telling obstetricians and pediatricians what medicine is (when they can’t even read research) I oppose universal care.

Working from the inside practicing medicine for poor people, I can tell you that the way the ACÁ ultimately avoids the entire issue- that of profit- has only expanded this profit culture and made bureaucracy more of a nightmare.

The ACÁ- for all the ways it expanded care to so many- ultimately centered insurance and profit. This was a democratic agreement reached because REPUBLICAN FASCISTS refuse to believe that health care is anything less than political rather than the fundamental human right that IT IS.

Capitalism IN HEALTHCARE is why many doctors burn out AND has created a bureaucratic nightmares so profound the only way to fix it feels like throwing the system away all together. Health care ideologically has been turned into a commodity and patients have become hostile and privileged.

Im so confused by this and am a doctor. Health care is NOT a bastard insurance- that is offensive and sounds responding out of anger combined with ignorance. I am deeply proud of the medicine I practice and will defend the decisions my patients and I make together until my own health has failed.

I’m actively seeking to move out of the United States. This place is not safe even for citizens.

This is already been shown to be the exact result of banning abortion. The data is very extremely evident, even more so now. The freaking politicians who all voted for this law should be sued and imprisoned for intentional maleficence against women.
