It seems very silly to say but one spot of good news I got last week is I lost an inch of height. Being slightly less "too tall" is a buffer against dysphoria and given what this hellhole country keeps inarticulately saying I'll hold onto that.

I am right there with you sis. I don't know what happened but I'm sorry anyway. I know you know you're loved but I want to let you know you're loved anyway. I miss you dearly. This is a bad year to turn 40, but you're not doing it alone.

That what seems like forty years of struggle and trauma is in reality less than hour of playback. I know it's not real, lucidly. Logically. I know that. But oh, do I wish it was. That I can just look back on all of this and remember it as a sad, sad story, when I am again who I really am.

The story is that this all happened in ancient history. That I'm occupying this life as a playback, as a sort of future historian who's experiencing this poor woman's struggles just to catalog it. And that the convulsive episodes are just the process of my waking up.

As scary and intense and painful as they are, they're really the only real escape I have from the hell of reality nowadays. And the subconscious part of my brain that tries to make sense of what is happening as it's happening tells me such a beautiful story, really.

I know how this screed reads and it isn't that. I would like to have a better reason than spite for living, truly. But I'm going to be honest, every time I have a convulsive episode that no medical professional can identify I hope it's the one that shuts my brain off permanently.
