I'm mostly concerned about the additional VMT imparted by the cost and ease of its use, and the shift in infrastructure investment and development encouraged by that change. I'm not sure the city is up to managing that challenge, let alone the state.

Sounds like legislators are in "wait and see" mode vis a vis transportation funding and the ballot measure. Reps Sanchez, Nelson don't want to see transit cuts but offered no concrete plans to address them.

And some momentum for disconnecting OR's tax code from the federal one, but not all Ds in the legislature may be on board.

Sounds like there's a lot of momentum for a package of bills to push back on ICE and election interference.

Rep Sanchez says it's "up or out" when it comes to housing production/UGB expansion and isn't thrilled about expanding the UGB. Rep Nelson is more clearly pro "up" than "out". Sen Frederick says it's not either/or.

Kudos to Rep Travis Nelson for voting against bonding.

and Sen. Frederick is still gung ho about IBR despite the ballooning costs. Rep. Sanchez voted for bonding for the project but supposedly wasn't happy about it. 🙄

Meanwhile, in Oregon (which also had a rare, hard to get congestion pricing permit from feds) ODOT failed so hard at standing up the pgm that the governor had it banned it in statute.

High taxes are a scapegoat for OR's stagnation: the real problem is bad governance and the uncertainty it begets.

Given that we just experienced major landslides in the state that have taken important state routes out of service, and that we have more or less defunded important transit networks, I will be interested in supporting any primary challengers willing to fight for the transportation funding we deserve
