I wanted to do a little thread to talk about some possible side effects of the Russian governments economic policies as time goes on.

Some of these things may seem obvious once I point them out.

Trump ran on a plan to deport "criminal immigrants". He's having a hard time finding any, because immigrants commit crimes less than native born citizens, but he has to make good on his promise. So he's going after any immigrant who's committed any crime.

Many Trump voters are frustrated by tariffs and the financial losses. For the first time, people are starting to question his policies as they feel the impact on their wallets. Perhaps you should consider that Trump’s approach to Russia and the war has been just as ill-conceived

"Would the US be okay with Canada hosting russian nukes" is a silly question. Ukraine never had any plans to host US nukes. In fact, Ukraine is begging for US nukes and isn't getting them. What would the US do if Canada wanted russian nukes and russia refused to provide them? Nothing.

Trump's career is based on betrayal. He signs contracts, then refuses to fulfil his end of the deal. The minerals negotiation doesn't work that way. He needs to help Ukraine defend themselves, *then* he gets minerals from a stable Ukraine.

The main misconception in the West and ᵣussia is that "the war" started in 2022. It's worth repeating again and again that Putin started this war in 2014 by couping Crimea and invading Donbas. The war will end when ᵣussian soldiers go back to Moscow.

8. Corporations can't confiscate funds from private accounts like Putin can. They sell bonds to raise money. But russian businesses can't afford to pay >21% for bonds. They also can't afford to pay high wages to compete with Putin's recruitment offers.

5. The market thinks it's a bad deal. russia can't get a loan. russia only sold 5% of their bonds this time. The market doesn't think russia will pay them back. Or they think real russian inflation is higher than 21% and their investment will lose money.
