In a couple of weeks my pottery class will start up again and I will practice more. Today I finished glazing the last of the things and a couple pieces were already out of the kiln! I drew a squiggle on paper and waxed it to keep glaze off one area for the design.

I don’t necessarily expect first year students to produce new research; that is a skill you master in grad school. I do want them to produce a “new” conclusion that builds off the research they read. I guess I mainly push them by asking variations of “why is that” over and over in the margins.
