It's mainly the getting up in the dark thing that messes with me.

I have seen clocks that slowly turn the lights on. Maybe that would help, but then again there is the jarring part of walking outside into darkness.

We are into that time of year where we have drive to work in the dark and soon the return trip will also be in the dark.

I am finding myself with a lack of energy at a time when I need to get some work done.

Sometimes I will make secrets that go so deep that even I don't know what the answer is.

Had to get some games sent to Europe in time for Essen Spiel and Lucca Comics and Games.

Due to the Canada Post strike I can't ship that way and it was actually cheaper to have new games printed in Germany and the UK that it was to ship by courier. 😒

Added tip: Learn to adapt to a small space. Combat is the biggest time sink, which can be removed in a small space.

I recommend everyone watch Rope by Alfred Hitchcock, to understand what can be done with only 2 rooms.

You are not undercutting any of us. It's the handful of big companies doing that.
If anything, the hobbyists are are helping cast a wide net and promoting a more diverse gaming culture and bringing new ideas that the more profit motivated companies won't touch.

This the difference between hobbyists and professionals. We all start as hobbyists, but some of us reach for the stars, only to realize that the stars are out of reach.

My goal is to do this as a career, which unfortunately is a monumental task.

The rough part of being a game developer is that most of your time is not actually spent developing, it's spent marketing and working with spreadsheets.

There are some jobs that are going to lean heavy into AI, but many more that won't in some cases can't.

I work in graphic design and from what I have seen so far, I have no fear of being replaced. Sure it can make pictures, but my job requires detail and consistency that AI can't really do.
