tablet testing results are in: it works surprisingly well for what I paid for it, but the chance it'll give me carpal tunnel syndrome is definitely not zero

my biggest issue (aside from the battery) with the ipad is that I can't keep a good posture with it, and it messes up my back

why did I make this move seemingly backwards?
because my ipad drains its battery in minutes, and since I draw very rarely these days, it's always out of juice AND the charger broke, so I need to use my laptop charger BUT laptop is only used downstairs while ipad is only used upstairs 😤

after many years of screen tablets, I have returned to the world of plain pen tablets

Again, be clear about your goals. What are you trying to accomplish? What level of detail is needed for your story?

Backgrounds aren’t irrelevant. They tell us where the scene is set, build the mood, offer additional information about the story etc., but are they needed for every panel? Not really.

Are you trying to trying to keep a steady release schedule or a strict deadline? Adjust your workflow accordingly. Too high expectations with too little time leads to burnout.

My take on the comic bg discussion:
Unless your working on commission with agreed upon specs, it’s your comic, do what you want.
Just be clear on what your goals are. Are you trying to make every page a masterpiece? Be lenient with your deadlines.
