A vicious voice of hate has gone silent.

In normal times, I might object. In normal times, his voice would not have carried deadly weight.

In times where his voice results in death and oppression, I cannot condemn the absolute fact that the world is a safer place tonight than it was this morning.

Celebrating the first full day of summer-

HERE COMES
by Shel Silverstein
Here comes summer,
Here comes summer,
Chirping robin, budding rose.
Here comes summer,
Here comes summer,
Gentle showers, summer clothes.
Here comes summer,
Here comes summerβ€”
Whooshβ€”shiverβ€”there it goes.

You will be asked to make a difficult moral choice, soon.

If you're not ready for that moment, you'll likely choose wrong. You'll fail the test, because you're wired to obey and conform.

If you are military, police, or government, I beg you to consider courageous conscience over evil cowardice.

Me in a skirt and cape.

Me in a skirt and cape.

It's World Naturism Day (for the Northern Hemisphere) and for those who must wear clothes, it's Wear a Dress Day.

Make the choice to rebel today. Rebel against expectations. Explore a new way of existing. Explore your self.

Today is a day, as Pride begins, to be bold.

Ghostly reflection of the tall ship Oliver Hazard Perry.

"Don't give up the ship!" Captain James Lawrence cried after being mortally wounded June 1, 1813 while battling a British vessel. Shortly afterwards, his men did surrender, but his words became the battle flag of his friend, Newport's Oliver Hazard Perry, the Hero of Lake Eerie.

The media is still not reporting the news right, and that's a problem.

ICE is taking our friends and neighbors and community away from us in relative silence. Even when it is reported, the same lies get treated as "alleged facts."

The media should not be using terms like "gang," or "MS13" at all.

Rhode Island reluctance to ratify the constitution was complex, and not all of it was altruistic. However, threatened with a trade embargo by the US, and with the promise of the Bill of Rights, RI capitulated.

We also objected to slavery.

We were called "Rogue's Island" and "the Perverse Sister."

Happy Rhode Island Day!

"First in war, last in peace!" RI was first to declare independence, on May 4, 1776, and last to ratify the constitution, on May 29, 1790.

We ratified conditionally, "the powers of government may be reassumed by the people whensoever it shall become necessary."

Care bears with bellies bearing symbols for LGBTQIA+, women's health rights, BLM, trans rights, and anti-Nazi causes.

The only way to honor the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom is to continue their fight to preserve freedom.

If you are fighting for your freedom and not mine, you are fighting for privilege, for fascism.

Freedom means freedom for all, not just for some. Justice for ALL or it is empty.

Our history is a history of women, People of Color, Indigenous Peoples, and Queer people, of neurodivergent and differently abled individuals, and of immigrants.

Perhaps Representatives Randy Weber and Buddy Carter can apply for refugee status to Whitemanistan for being persecuted by America.
