Nate does a great job here showing that kerning is positioning relative to the prior letter. These letters move closer together, but the cursor still appears at the right boundary of the left letter. If you make the bounding box too wide and rely only on kerning, your cursor gets inaccurate.

ooh thats next level!! I end up having to change the layer blend mode to "Dissolve" so that I can use the tilde(~) shortcut to keep that pixellated brush texture. Usually, I only have my brush set to dissolve but I couldn't figure out how to erase with dissolve that way 💀💀

this final way I'd love to use it whenever i can 😂 because it also works if your initial 1px "box" is a dotted line causing you to create a bunch of speedlines at once when you manipulate it

these two shift+click methods dont need much setting up, so i do this a lot for smaller areas with tapered lines. not very advised for massive zoom panels though...

compiled some ways I create tapered points for retouching manga speed lines! most of these don't require a tablet at all. It's honestly a coin toss which method I end up using... 🙈

Well, here it is my year in review of lettering and design of manga/manhwa/manhua. 46 volumes in total. Not bad, although I hope I can cut it down for next year and be able to spend more time on each volume ☺️

Exciting to have an art credit instead of lettering for once heh. 🥺

My binary lineart softened, anti-aliased, slightly blurred, etc.

After running a "Noise" screentone onto softened lines, they have the effect of the wobbly bleeding/distressing of an ink print.

1) My lineart is usually binary, but I merge it to a new layer, and either run `Smoothing`, or a very small `Gaussian Blur` so the noise has something to work on.
2) I turn on `Screentone` on the lineart layer, then set the `Shape` to `Noise`, and the noise size a little higher than for shading.
