Part of it is just a lack of science fiction shows in general that take place in space, but when we do get them, they just lack any sort of personality about them.

I am 100% convinced that spaceship design in anime was a thousand times better in the 80s and 90s than it is today.

Honestly, I read this back in the mid 80s as a teenager and it stuck with me ever since. I mean, it's malleable, because of what we live in, but at the same time, you can narrow slice it as well.

Hell, we're seeing what happens to people when they don't leave a bad service as those still on twitter are getting their brains cooked even more.
