Labour-run Exeter City Council's Report Card. X ยฃ10m+ lost on their failed housing company and ยฃ50m+ wasted on their city centre vanity projects. X Littered streets, worst recycling rate in the South West, locals priced out of the city. X Cancelled elections so they can hide from the public.

Labour are out of ideas for Exeter. They know their time in office is up. So they're running scared of the electorate.

In July 2025, we asked confirmation from Exeter Labour they wouldn't cancel the 2026 local elections. They said they wouldn't.

Now the Labour Govt has scandalously decided to invite 60 councils (including Exeter) to cancel their elections this May, we hope Exeter Labour won't go back on their word.

Fantastic result in Seaton, which makes it 13/13 wins for Lib Dems in Devon by-elections since last May's local elections!

Congratulations and well done to Steve and team and everyone who helped ensure Seaton is well represented.

Also pleased Ed enjoys a proper scone!

Positive step county are trialling filling in all potholes in a spot reported not just the worst ones. Should be more efficient & less troublesome! I'd suggest extending this trial county-wide asap.

Great to see that the pothole I reported in Higher King's Avenue earlier in the year has been fully patched up!

Exeter is for Everyone event counters anti-migrant city centre march - Exeter Observer 1,200-1,500 people participate in hope and unity march, outnumbering British Unity nationalists by more than ten to one as significant police presence maintains order except for few minor clashes.

Report by @exeterobserver.org on how Exeter responded brilliantly to the far right trying to spread their hate in the city.

Nigel Farage & Alex Phillips have been awfully quiet about Nathan Gill pleading guilty to eight counts of bribery relating to pro-Russia statements made in European parliament and articles.

Just wanted to refresh their memories about how they were all a team through that period.

Complained again to the BBC over its bias for Reform UK. He's on their news almost every single time, but heard nothing on his hypocritical stamp duty tax dodging ๐Ÿง

Hopefully more than a weak, flawed, limited copy & paste response this time...

BBC Bosses Draw Up Plans to Win Over Reform Voters by Changing News and Drama Output The Director General Tim Davie and other executives discussed altering BBC โ€œstory selectionโ€ in order to secure the "trust" of supporters of Nigel Farageโ€™s party

This is fucking insane. The BBC is adjusting output to โ€œwin backโ€ Reform voters while ex-Tory spin doctor, Gibb, sits on its board.

Thatโ€™s not public service or impartiality - itโ€™s interference.

Bending over for Farage puts the BBC in the gutter with the Daily Mail. bylinetimes.com/2025/06/09/b...

Will's complaint to the BBC about biasing Reform UK over other parties.

I've had enough of the BBC's blatant and repeated bias, disproportionately promoting a party with just 5 MPs.

What can we do about it? Do what Brits do best: complain. The more complaints they receive, the more likely they are to do something about it.

Letter from Will Aczel to Steve Race MP against Labour's proposed cuts to PIP disability benefits. For full alt text please visit https://www.exeterlibdems.org.uk/news/article/pipcuts

I know from friends, family & door-knocking, PIP disability benefits are already dangerously too hard to claim. Yet Labour propose cuts.

It's abhorrent to save from amongst our most vulnerable whilst inequality continues to rise.

Iโ€™ve written to Exeterโ€™s MP to make the case & clarify his position:

"800,000 will lose Pip, 150,000 will lose carersโ€™ allowance, and 250,000 more will be in poverty, including 50,000 children."

It's so odd that I didn't see that in the Labour Manifesto.

Devon County Council plan to postpone local elections fails as government rejects devolution fast-track application - Exeter Observer County council leader James McInnes sought ministerial approval for proposals despite Devon falling short of devolution white paper eligibility criteria.

Good news โ€“ we will have the chance to lodge our verdict on the failing Tory administration that has run Devon CC into the ground for the past 12yrs.

Devon Labour & the Toriesโ€™ attempt to deny democracy & cling on to power has been rejected.

Donald Trump will, no doubt, spend the coming months and years undoing Biden's reforms.

Just like previously, Biden reversed the changes made by Trump, who in turn dismantled Obama's legacy.

That's what FPTP leads to: not stability but a chaotic cycle of policy lurches.
