A few years ago, we changed our y7 baseline reading screener to one which could also identify slow-processing-speed in students with strong verbal reasoning.
The new screener is more expensive but it's so important to identify needs as early as possible in the secondary school journey.
We 'solved behaviour issues' (aka alleviated anxiety) for two different children just by giving them the time to play outdoors with diggers in the sand. Gently does it every time. โบ๏ธ
