I’m curious if you think the left needs to frame more along fear and grievance? It seems like except for some non-mainstream messengers, the left has generally ceded these unfortunate but powerful dark arts to the right.

Is an underlying reason for this that big donors feel youth on the left are all too far left thus a risk to empower? Probably also decades of taking the youth vote for granted, I’d guess.

I have always felt that you nominate a charismatic outsider or you lose. True for either party. And I think the major ingredient of charisma is authenticity.

democrats should put anyone who wants to be their nominee before a focus group where they’d have to make their pitch and do open q&a. Group then rates the candidate on authenticity with questions like “This candidate says what they really think” and “This candidate talks like a typical politician.”
