Tiktok was a GREAT source of news, not just political but various communities, subjects, opinions. We have to reproduce it in a way where no government, not even our own, can block it again.

Agreed, and the next 4 years will not help advance those but driving EVs vs gas cars is still better, and incremental progress is still progress. I can't remove my reliance on cars, but I can choose cars that do less (not no) damage, and buying a new car would waste the one I've already got.

Given that you have to be able to move them to a new iPhone, there's almost certainly a way to extract them (at least if you're Apple), so if the market demanded it I suspect they'd be able to support exporting them.

Also even type 2, the one usually blamed on eating too much sugar, isn't always caused by excess sugar/carbs. Having a low-insulin pancreas, having too much stress, not enough exercise, genes that in combination mess with your insulin usage, and removal/damage of the pancreas all also "cause" type 2

Well it's not childhood diabetes - that's now called Type 1, which you can get at any age, it's just easier to detect in kids as it progresses faster. In adults it's often called Type 1.5 or LADA, and it can take much longer to fully develop.

I thought there were places in like KY or TN where fire coverage was private, and not gov subsidized? They'd wait for a fire to hit the covered house but let the non paying one burn? I think it's disturbing but some places funded it that way?

Indeed, back when I was pre-diabetic I wish my doctor had told me to check my blood sugar, because I might have found out what doesn't work for me and I might have delayed the onset of my type 2 diabetes. I'm happy that CGMs are finally available OTC, even if they aren't great for us diabetics..
