I still can’t figure out when “we can deport you” turned into “we can put you in a hell hole prison in a third country, indefinitely, with no legal recourse.”

I’m sure this has been said by people smarter than me but I’m pretty sure Trump’s tariff threats are meant to serve two purposes - to test the loyalties of the party members and to demonstrate his unchecked power. Both of those concepts are terrifying.

I actually became one of these people for awhile. My poor husband! 😂 Don’t worry, I wised up!

This has given me more hope than I’ve had in some time in our elected officials.

We should all be terrified to live in an America where legal residents can be detained, held at gunpoint, or deported because of the color of their skin or because the President disagrees with their views.

No matter how hard things get, try to stay positive and remember that things will get way, way, way, way, way harder soon.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but when the Nazis first started sending Jews and other victims to camps, they called it deportation, and the camps were technically in other countries.

Went to my first protest! We were joined by a state senator who gave a supportive speech. Loved the energy!

I have to admit, it was a stellar week! I was frozen for a few weeks after the election, but I’m starting to remember what power I have. One person can change the world for one person.

1. Called my representatives with incredulous energy.
2. Made a sign for my first protest!
3. Read my print copy of NYT.
4. Cooked a meal for a friend who just had a baby.
5. Looked up “how to run for local office”.

Of course when you are feeling okay for an hour it’s when you are at the doctor’s!

Assuming we make it long enough to have great grandkids 😕
