Today I had an email from a book printer with some images of the types of books they make.

AI images.

A company that makes real books that chooses not to use real books to show what it can do.

Ugh. UGH.

I am in almost exactly this position. I loaded up my save the other day and didn't even remember where I was or what I was doing.

Well, I just made my first DragonMeet purchase.

It's a shame because hiring a diverse and skilled bunch of people and paying them well for their time seems like a cool idea.

But I am so not on board with anything that elevates GMing into a mysterious art form beyond the ken of mere mortals that takes wads of cash or years of esoteric study.

I saw a comment in this thread - which Grant responded to perfectly - about how we shouldn't criticize this since some of the teachers are POC.

Sure, don't rock POCs for their hustle. But it doesn't change the fact that this does NOT help our industry or marginalized workers as a whole very much.

Who are you aware of so far?

Plus, I'm unsure what international attendee numbers are normally like and how a drop in them would impact the show overall.

Given it can sell out, if you lose let's say 2k attendees, are there 2k more who wanted badges and didn't get them waiting to take their place?

The number of folks publicly cancelling GenCon attendance is growing, and the number quietly not attending is growing more.

I can't yet decide if it'll have a big enough impact to make the con feel different overall, but the number of people who will notice as con-goers must be going up too.

I find it hard not to believe that at some point a strategist stood in front of a white and wrote "what can we do to make our existing Labour base want to give us a running kick to the crotch?" and then made every idea from that meeting policy.

My greatest contribution to the team was failing every single roll, tripping devil balls, throwing a bomb in a small chamber and rolling a nat 1, and ultimately being dissolved in demonic acid.
Fun was had.
