Does anyone have advice for managing emails? I end up with huge backlogs & the worse my anxiety gets about it (which is worse postpartum for some reason), the more my avoidance grows! It's taken half a day but I've nearly cleared my whole inbox. To anyone I owe a reply: thank you for bearing with me

I'm so confused by the 'crocs are hideous' to 'crocs are the height of fashion' timeline. What have I missed? Am I now considered too old to understand?

My 18 month old can now say the word 'pig' (sort of - it sounds like 'peeee-guh') so shouts it gleefully at random (regular) intervals and at unsuspecting bystanders.

Does anyone else listen to specific music for each writing project and then find they can't listen to ANYTHING else when thinking about said project? My brain will only let me work on Chapter 5 if I'm listening to the 'Drummer' album by G Flip. (Yes, this whole thesis is powered by queer musicians)

Today UK authors are protesting against Meta for stealing our work to train their AI model. Authors earn an average of £7000 per year, we are not rich, and yet a trillion dollar company decided it didn’t want to license our work fairly as it was “too expensive”

Theft is not a valid alternative.

That is comforting to hear as I’m sure it will be a rollercoaster of emotions if it does come to that!

5 yrs ago I was crying in the toilets everyday because my job made me miserable & obliterated my selfesteem. Now I do work that I LOVE surrounded by wonderful people. It’s crushing to know it could end with the PhD (read: job market) but for now I will soak it up. Better to have loved & lost… right?

Today will be my first experience of missing my toddler’s bedtime because of meetings on campus. This really feels like the start of a new chapter.
