Kia ora Russell,
Gorgeous interview with Tom. I built that studio a couple years ago for him & it was an absolute blessing to spend that kind of time with him. Sending you such love & kindness for your loss.

Lincoln Road has multiple pockets today and from my clinic office I can hear constant honking in support of the #Oct23strike.
This is a historic day for workers rights in Aotearoa New Zealand
Now we've seen the result of this appeal, journalists can start releasing their stories about how involved Jago was with the ACT Party and David Seymour, right?

#NZpol The "go slower" on emergency service buildings sounds off.
You’d think emergency service buildings should _always_ be built to higher standards, surely, and be high priority.
Likewise for buildings intended as safe havens in times of crisis.
There are few joys in my life quite like being cuddled by three cats simultaneously who don’t like each other

Regressive and incompatible with a free society.
So what I suggest is more
'i think we need policy xyz, which is why I'm gonna vote Green or TPM because I don't think Labour will do XYZ if they don't have to'
And less 'lab must support XYZ and reject the lib centrist bullshit holding the country back'
Is curia wording Stuff polls now? Because asking if an apple and sandwich is good enough for lunch is not the issue. Starving kids in poverty is the issue.
This being their only meal of the day, is the issue. Working families in poverty is the issue.

I wonder if the police could use these *new powers* and arrest people who have assaulted people in say, a library, when they’re shown clear footage of assailants committing the harm.
Nah we’ll just leave it to the untrained public huh?
Give these guys the power to violently arrest you what could go wrong? www.1news.co.nz/2025/02/11/e...

What a cop out that will result in so much violence when ultimately retail theft stems from a cost of living crisis and a lack of support

A screenshot of the Waikato Times, with the headline, 'I’ve never seen it to that extent' - city leaders flee conspiracy mob. It goes on to say, Hamilton’s deputy mayor was among councillors subjected to an attempted citizen’s arrest at a public meeting overrun by hundreds of conspiracists...
What's that? The government is increasing citizen's arrest powers?
I'm sure that won't go badly at all...
Every announcement this government makes is just baffling. Citizens arrests risk serious harm to both parties. Do not encourage your staff to do this. It breaches your health and safety obligations.

In the footnotes it then says "Violent crime is not a category of data that Police tracks". Both these things can't be true.

With Brian Tamaki openly admitting he directly instructed his followers to storm the Te Atatu Peninsula Library on Saturday, I will be personally insulted if he isn't charged with inciting riotous behaviour likely to cause violence. He's directly and publicly admitted guilt.

I hope that they can come forward to help illustrate the scale of the harm that Destiny Church did yesterday.

For those asking how they can help in the wake of the Destiny cult’s attack yesterday, I encourage you to make time to go to pride events today like Big Gay Out or some of the other smaller events.
We are strongest together and we will not be afraid of those muppets.
Thanks e kare, going okay today 💚
