I truly think it’ll make the 2010 tea party movement look tame. It’s gonna be vicious.

We were in the minority and blah blah blah

You want to effect a generational transfer in the party, this is it. Primaries for 2026-2030 are going to be lit.

85-year-old democrats negotiating with the jaws of defeat: hey bud you hungry?

I mean if this implodes because Mike Lee wants to fire more government workers I’ll take it. Somehow it’s like which leadership is more incapable of whipping votes

I mean people should picket her house because this is insane. She needs to resign because that statement is patently false.

I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

I'm voting no.

The only thing I think that could hold this up is the fact the current language strips the Whitehouse of anymore RIFs and hamstrings how they can fund the government through CRs. Otherwise this is a stupid decision by Tim Kaine and company and they should be stripped of any major committees.

Some Dems fuming about this deal.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth:

β€œI simply cannot, and I will not, vote to do nothing to help protect [ppl who rely on ACA] from Trump’s vindictive and malicious efforts in exchange for a vague promise from the least trustworthy Republican party in our nation’s history."

But people won’t have to sign up for 50 year mortgages…”

Public policy is supposed to try to protect people from scams, not create new scams so people can get exploited.

So when Dems recommend a public option they can now point to Trump as a proponent of it?

This is a perfect encapsulation of Texas HS football, especially out west.

Coaches meeting at a gas station to do a coin flip to see who makes the playoffs.

There’s two entire rounds of voting before Dems can conceivably do this. It is well within the voters purview to demand these things from their reps. If no candidates talk about systemic changes to the government starting their campaigns for the 28 election then I’d be worried.

The way republicans in states thousands of miles away are absolutely terrified of Mamdani feels like they’re terrified of Dems figuring out that they’re the Party of Roosevelt and the New Deal.

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

Of course the risk of doing radical mid-decade gerrymandering for Rs in midterms always was that they weakened a lot of formerly safe Repub districts by moving R voters into Dem districts, which would backfire spectacularly if you have a blue wave scenario - making it a tsunami.

Good lord if mamdani gave the Giants a halftime speech with half of that zeal they might actually win a game!

Zohran Mamdani in his victory speech:

"Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you: Turn the volume up."

The cheers in the room are deafening.
