Florida nuclear plant workers were too afraid to report safety concerns, records show
A culture of fear has persisted at a Florida nuclear power plant owned and operated by the stateβs largest utility, according to a federal inspection report completed last fall.
"A culture of fear has persisted at a Florida nuclear power plant ... according to a federal inspection report completed last fall." The findings come as the utility asks regulators for permission to hike Floridiansβ electric rates by billions of dollars the largest request in American history.

White House Pushes Bomb-Prone Nuclear Energy
The White House has now fully embraced bomb-prone nuclear fuel technology. This should stop before an arms race, atomic terrorism or even nuclear war results
Every nuclear reactor produces plutonium (or its equivalent), which can be extracted to make bombs. A simplistic way to prevent proliferation might be to halt the worldwide growth of nuclear power to prevent the spread of nuclear-weapon-usable technologies in the first place.

"Storm clouds began to form in Americaβs Atoms for Peace construction program during the late 1950s." A February 10, 1958, opinion piece in Time Magazine was correct then and also applies to the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) marketing ploy in 2025. Without government aid, atomic power fails.

Republicans and Democrats Finally Agree on Nuclear. Itβs the Industry Thatβs the Problem.
The atomic age is perpetually on the verge of dawning.
"All the incentives and permitting reforms the government can muster wonβt change the basic economics that have led to just three new nuclear plants getting built in the U.S. this century: It takes too long, is too expensive and is only getting pricier."

Contributor: Small nuclear reactors are no fix for California's energy needs
The state is considering allowing mass-produced reactors, defying economics and logic. The hype is built on magical thinking.
"[N]uclear power costs had grown steadily for decades... But solar, wind and battery prices have kept dropping, becoming the cheapest. Indeed, those three technologies constitute a remarkable 93% of planned U.S. utility-scale electric-generating capacity additions in 2025."

At the core of the latest attempted βrenaissanceβ of nuclear power is the Big Lie that atomic reactors are an answer to global warming. In fact, they are
When it's too hot for nuclear power to function, most solar and wind function well while adding no heat, or radiation, of their own to the environment.
