Québec just passed a school mask ban in the name of laïcité, again highlighting the links between different kinds of marginalization (disability and religious identity). This makes me so sad.

We ordered a couple very adorable Halloween earrings for my newly pierced kiddo (2 months since piercing) and figured out she’s not ready to be regularly switching earrings yet. But she was really pleased with how cute the earrings are! Lots of variety on offer.

Reading replies it looks like I managed to be completely backwards from everyone else.

Weirdly, while literal cream is cream-y, I don’t usually think it’s enough to make something creamy on its own. The word is very much decoupled from its origin for me. I would tend to describe things with a lot of dairy like cream, butter, and cheese as rich or heavy rather than creamy.

I tend to use creamy to mean anything with a richly smooth texture, e.g. purée soup, where the “creaminess” is actually predominantly coming from vegetable. A blended curry with coconut milk might also fall in that category for me.
