Natuur gaat achteruit door slechte kwaliteit van water Natuur in natuurgebieden gaat achteruit vanwege de slechte kwaliteit van het water. De vereniging Natuurmonumenten deed onderzoek naar het water in elf natuurgebieden en zag overal ernstige problemen zoals vervuiling en verzuring.ppKwetsbare planten en dieren worden daardoor ernstig bedreigd. Ook zijn in vrijwel alle gebieden de grondwaterstanden te laag, wat leidt tot verdroging. ppDe achteruitgang in natuurgebieden heeft een aantal belangrijke oorzaken zoals het gebruik van bestrijdingsmiddelen, meststoffen in het water, overmatige waterafvoer, grondwateronttrekkingen en klimaatverandering. De resultaten zijn zorgwekkend, zegt Wiebe Borren, hydroloog bij Natuurmonumenten.ppVoldoende en schoon water is van levensbelang voor de natuur en daarmee ook voor de mens. We moeten verdere achteruitgang van de natuur stoppen en het verdwijnen van planten en dieren tegengaan. Volgens Borren dreigt de schade onomkeerbaar te worden.ph2Tik op vingers van EUh2pVorige maand tikte de Europese Commissie ons land nog op de vingers vanwege de slechte waterkwaliteit. Brussel concludeert dat de kwaliteit van zoet water in Nederland zwaar onder druk staat.ppIn 2027 moeten alle EUlidstaten voldoen aan eisen om het oppervlakte en grondwater in goede toestand hebben en te houden. We hebben de afgelopen jaren samen met anderen heel hard gewerkt om de gebieden op orde te krijgen. Maar de oplossingen van de overgebleven problemen liggen echt buiten de natuurgebieden zelf, aldus Borren.ppOnder het vorige kabinet waren er plannen en geld om de problemen met het water op te lossen. Het nieuwe kabinet heeft die plannen echter geschrapt.p

Natuur gaat achteruit door slechte kwaliteit van water

Ik zie weer overal plukken hondenhaar liggen. Daar bouwen vogeltjes nesten van. Leuk zou je denken, behalve als de hond behandeld is met vlooienmiddel, dan gaan de jonge vogeltjes er dood van. (Zelfs katten gaan dood van hondenvlooiendruppels) dus ruim gewoon even op.

Zo gaan mensen die echt voor vrijheid gestreden hebben om met mensen die nu voor vrijheid strijden.

Daar kan politiek schroot in het Witte of het Catshuis heel veel van leren.
