literally why can't civilians travel to Gaza to give Palestinians aid so they are no longer killed by disease and starvation as part of a white nationalist campaign to ethnically cleanse and exterminate Palestinians for purposes of stealing their land and resources?????????????? fuck borders

β€œI no longer have the strength to work for the media. My body is thin and I can’t work anymore.” The last journalists remaining in Gaza are near death from forced starvation. There is enough food at the border to feed the entire population for 3 months. This is genocide.

I want to shout out the @debsmuseum.bsky.social in Terre Haute, Indiana. The highlight of the experience was the museum guide, Allison, who is holding it down and who effortlessly tied Debs legacy and impact, and the times he lived in, to our own current living and working conditions.

it's much easier to cringe at expressions like these when we go online and see it on a screen. when you see it in person it feels different and it makes you think about how much andor emotionally affected its viewers

This is not about "public safety".

It's about intimidating cities who refuse to participate in Trump's mass deportation efforts.

Statement from Tristan Kern de Gonzales
Husband of Jonathan Joss

My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home. That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire. We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done.

Throughout that time we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic.

When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw.

While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired.

Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life.

Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future.

He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.

I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved.

To everyone who supported him, his fans, his friends, know that he valued you deeply. He saw you as family.

My focus now is on protecting Jonathan’s legacy and honoring the life we built together.

If your concern is how someone coped with trauma or how loudly they speak when recounting injustice and being ignored by authorities then you never truly cared about my husband.

Jonathan saved my life. I will carry that forward. I will protect what he built.

Not great to see "we're doing this bad thing for the Jews" spread outside the Trump administration.

It is, in fact, antisemitic for politicians to use antisemitism as an all-purpose excuse for enacting authoritarian policies like demanding control of university curricula and suppressing protests.

Class A misdemeanors in New York include riot in the second degree (β€œengag[ing] in tumultuous & violent conduct, thereby intentionally or recklessly caus[ing] or creat[ing] a grave risk of causing public alarm” in groups of 5+), which I’m sure the police would NEVER use to quell public protest.

The reason billionaires like McMahon are obsessed with student debt is that creating financial precarity makes people more stressed about losing their job. If you’re worried about your job you’re less likely to quit and find work elsewhere. You’re less likely to ask for a raise. It’s pure class war.

β€œThe reason we’re here is because the government of the United States wants you to leave the United States,” Judge Ubaid ul-Haq, presiding from a courtroom on Varick Street, told a group of about a dozen children on a recent morning on Webex.

β€œIt’s my job to figure out if you have to leave,” ul-Haq continued. β€œIt’s also my job to figure out if you should stay.”

The parties included a 7-year-old boy, wearing a shirt emblazoned with a pizza cartoon, who spun a toy windmill while the judge spoke. There was an 8-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister, in a tie-dye shirt, who squeezed a pink plushy toy and stuffed it into her sleeve. None of the children were accompanied by parents or attorneys, only shelter workers who helped them log on to the hearing.

Children as young as *four* are being put in the position of representing themselves without lawyers/parents present in front of immigration judges in cases that will determine whether they are deported.
