Respectfully, @councilordunphy.bsky.social, we can't excuse this just because it wasn't malicious. The system of accounting was chosen and managed by City leadership who are still there. If they're incapable of effectively managing government funds, they're not qualified for their positions.

Yeah, I have been lowkey kind of fascinated by this genre of post, which really does seem to vindicate the "everything is just perception via social media" theory of politics.

Many of these normies actually have decades organizing large group actions experience but it is like being on their library board, or church picnic lead, or running their PTA.

Because creating trust networks and community on the ground takes time and effort and isn't something you can easily share for clout. A lot of quiet activity creating a lot of goodwill and connections has to happen to bring people together like in MN. And that trust breaks when people are careless.

No offense but if anything MN puts the lie to the idea that popular resistance takes a bunch of time and preparation by established activists who are allegedly quietly building goodwill. Mostly I see those people upset that it's succeeding and trying to gatekeep the normal people out of it

I'm honestly concerned about the legality of most Housing Bureau past/current spending at this point. Money coming and going out of the wrong funds to things they might not be allowed for.
