I don't think keeping a functioning phone for 3 years is what they are talking about. Computers used to last us for 8-10 years, why shouldn't a hand held computer?

This event is prompting reflection. Not the middle of the night raid where children were zip tied, not the attacks in broad daylight on civilians and legal residents. I mean, I'm glad *something* has prompted reflection but for crying out loud. Have people not been paying attention?

Wait, is this the same administration that canceled security details for past administration staff, people who normally would have protection after their term ends?

There is nothing in this agreement that has been gained. Do not let your colleagues cave - thank you for being a voice for those who need it.

At a time when our politics feels broken, we need leaders like @mikiesherrill.bsky.social for Governor.

Mikie will work to create jobs, lower costs, and do what’s right for the people of New Jersey.

I don't see that at all when I go to Whitehouse.gov.

I'm shocked that they said this so definitively. I expected them to put out a garbage AI generated paper confirming their "findings." Then scientists would have had to spend weeks refuting and pulling it apart. Why the about face? They didn't let it fade into the chaos?

This isn't getting nearly enough attention. Thank you for sticking with the story. The mifepristone case is about the legality of FDA review and it's about the validity of science.

This is either extortion or smoke and mirrors. There is an exemption for companies that manufacture in the US, where most pharma companies create at least some portion of their drugs. And those that don't will quickly announce investments.

Maybe if we start thinking of women as people we'll have fewer problems.

This article actually is quite clear about the problematic material, and not only on the last paragraph. This "museum" and its flaws are newsworthy because of its location and sponsorship by the US govt.

No, sir, we don't want you to recommend a single thing. We want you to stay out of the way of the medical professionals who already HAVE recommended medicines and vaccines

Right? Tell the thousands of patients who were in the many clinical trials that they were mistaken.

He's been quiet this week, but look at how much awful stuff happened anyway. We cannot be looking at his death or removal as the solution. The wheels of destruction are so fully in motion that he is nearly irrelevant. Our work and protest must continue.

If the armed militia isn't out protecting protestors and immigrants who are being arrested in courthouses while seeking a legal path to citizenship NOW, what are they waiting for? Oh, right...they don't see the fascism that they are supposedly armed to fight against.

That seems like a ripe opportunity for a lawsuit, and Pharma has deep pockets. If the US bans the sale of a safe and legal vaccine, I can't see how that would stand up in court. Reminds me of the issues when they tried to stop mifepristone administration.

You all would know better than me, but how exactly would they "ban" it? They could make it harder to get by changing recommendations (ACIP seems aligned with this). But would they revoke the approval? That would be in FDA's remit.

And she wasn't even credibly accused. It was "a Trump ally."

Thank you! Everyone keeps echoing what Trump has said rather than the facts of this deal. 1) the US did pay for the shares 2) the US doesn't have any control of intel

24.08.2025 10:26 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

NPR reported that the US government is buying 433.3 million primary shares shares (not being given them) and that the US will not have a controlling stake or seat on the board. Yet everyone seems to be reporting what Trump said instead of the facts.

24.08.2025 09:32 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

From NPR: "The government has agreed to purchase 433.3 million primary shares of Intel common stock at $20.47 per share, equivalent to a 9.9% stake in the company." Why are all of the stories about this saying that Intel "gave" anything to the US?

Corruption of publicly funded data to drive users to the private market. Exactly what the "break the system" administration wants.

I used Direct File for my teenager. The standard forms were complicated for a teen with one job and limited income. It worked great! So easy and quick. We need MORE of this kind of service, not less.
