#ChildMaintenance needs reform at source, but Scotland can act now with practical, low-cost steps to improve access.

At yesterday’s Scottish Parliament roundtable hosted by @stu-mcmillan-msp.bsky.social, partners, MSPs & parents discussed both UK-wide reform and immediate Scottish actions.

Last week we and our partners at @opfs.org.uk & @fifegingerbread.bsky.social took the Transforming Child Maintenance message to Holyrood.

📡 Today I visited one of Openreach's projects in Port Glasgow to hear how they're improving connectivity locally.

📱 I welcome this investment as staying connected is important to us all - whether it's to keep in touch with friends & family, for work or study, or to connect with services.

📰 Here's my column from today's Greenock Telegraph covering Remembrance Day, my amendments to the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill, and Labour's plans to cut £1 billion from Scotland's budget.

🎟 Young people from Inverclyde have taken over 3.8m free bus journeys since the Scottish Government introduced free travel for under 22s in 2022.

👏 With peak rail fares gone for good & other schemes offering free bus travel to over 2.3m Scots, the @snp.org are helping save people £ on transport.

It was an honour to take part in the @parliament.scot Act of Remembrance service today in my role as parliamentary piper.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland has the lowest rate of train cancellations in the UK & a survey has found ScotRail has a 91% customer satisfaction rate.

💛 This shows how the @snp.org bringing ScotRail back into public ownership has improved rail travel in Scotland - now cheaper with the removal of peak rail fares.
