We didn’t get the ice cream. He got a consolation turkey leg tho.

The server stared at me for a few seconds before whipping out her phone and asking ChatGPT if ice cream had eggs in it. Before I could just call her off, it spat out a definitive “no,” which she repeated to me with confidence.

Walked up to ye olde ice cream shoppe and mentioned that he’s allergic to eggs. Would they be so kind as to check if this ice cream had any in it? Ice cream typically doesn’t, but you never know.

We went to the local Renn faire this weekend. I expected the standard faire extortion and kind of looked forward to it in a sick way, so I initially had no problem getting the kiddo a single-scoop $10 ice cream cone.

Same! I was pleasantly surprised they lived up to the hype.

This memory enters my mind like once a month as a welcome mental cleanse. Gotta hang onto those thoughts these days.

Has it elevated to requiring a more comprehensive municipal approach to controlling them? Is that even feasible and how? Is there a point when we accept that they’re here? Should we let our kid continue dispatching them righteously?

But at this point squishing a few during each outing seems inconsequential and almost cruel? We’re clearly not making a dent here.

Been thinking a lot about spotted lantern flies lately. We’ve taught kiddo that we almost never truly need to kill bugs, only relocate them when necessary. We’ve made an exception for spotted lantern flies given the havoc they wreak on local plants.

Boarding a flight and the kiddo shook hands with the gate checker instead of handing him the ticket. Cute and the dude gave kiddo his first pair of wings. 🤝🫡
