saw it in the theater as a sneak preview promo for the movie at the AFI Theater just outside DC. before the movie they gave us merch goody bags and PR people tried to hype up the crowd and get us to pick a “winner” in advance for some coupon or something. a rich cultural experience of ancient times

funny thing that has happened three times now:

-a close friend asks for my advice on choosing a quality first preamp to improve home recordings

-I urge them enthusiastically to get a Daking mic pre one (because pushing Daking is evidently my entire personality)

-they get a Focusrite ISA one

(Daking is all reliably great stuff in general—hand made in US, always unique, versatile, and punches above its weight for the price point. I own their dual channel FET compressor as well. In a way they have a similar niche as Drawmer)

Shortly after I got these, Daking phased out all of their 500 modules altogether.
