Ok, so just looked into it- I have gaps from 2011-2017 where I would need to pay £4691 to fill them, however I was self employed for a part of that time and lived abroad for most of it so apparently I can pay Class 2 NIC instead of Class 3, which will be cheaper. I've requested them to call me....
