Right? There is a bus stop near my house and I’d love to take the bus when I have to go downtown but it’s 20 minutes to drive and 2 hours to take the bus. It just makes no sense to use public transportation.

Oh— for a plan with a $7500 deductible and $10k out of pocket max. They would just rather I die, right?

For a single 60 year old, my premium is going from $435 a month to $1270. It will be more than my mortgage payment.

I just splurged on my first pair of noise canceling headphones and when I put them on at the gate and it became dead silent, I could feel all of the overwhelm draining out of my body. Of course the day when I have to fly three hours and then drive three hours after that is the night I wake up at 3:00 in the morning and can’t get back to sleep. Luckily, I always sleep on airplanes.

I am a disabled person who has built a successful business so that I don’t have to apply for disability. I just got notice that my ACA health insurance plan is going to increase by $700 a month next year, for a policy with a $7500 deductible. I have no idea how I’m going to find that kind of $$.

A typed sheet of instructions from a polio hospital in the early 1940s. Some of the rules include that parents could only bring washable toys for their kids and all toys would be destroyed when the child left the hospital and that parents could only visit for five minutes at a time, twice daily. It is heartbreaking.

These are the instructions my Nanny kept from the polio hospital my dad was in for almost a year as a boy. The had to have entire hospitals for kids with polio. I can’t believe we are on our way back to this. #vaccines #polio

I cannot recommend Acapulco highly enough, if Apple TV is your thing. It has just the right combination of heart, laughs, production design and 80s songs sung in Spanish. And the final season just started so it’s a good time to watch.
