Do you know what I miss most in modern F1? The questionable reliability of the pre 2000 cars, when there was still an element of roulette in the form of a radiator, gasket, piston ring, 'big end bearing' failure etc. A sight all too rare in F1 these days in my view.

Most of the larger and influential American politico accounts on here pay little to no attention to Israel's atrocities in Gaza, preferring instead to revel in the daily clownery of their government and media. A welcome but rare condemnation from this type of account. Only America can stop Israel...

The government owned AIB between 2010 and 2017. Was autonomy a consideration during these years? What about the autonomy of the workers now? Interestingly, the government only sold it last remaining shares in the bank a month ago. 'Til next time...

Responding to questions from The Irish Times, a spokesman for AIB said “some of our colleagues are in an office or branch five days a week, some are office-centric which requires attendance onsite three to four days a week; and some are remote-centric which means they are office based two days a week.” The bank’s “employees benefit from in person time with their own team and broader colleagues” and AIB “recognise[s] the benefits of structured, hybrid working and are committed to enabling it,” he added. The spokesman said AIB has a “balanced and comprehensive hybrid working structure in place” and would continue to review the policy.

Considering that this spokesman's comments are indistinguishable from AI in their corporate mindlessness, it's not a bad bet.
