Aka Derek Gow?
12.02.2026 20:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ok, so money spinner?
12.02.2026 12:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That was my understanding. So Knepp introduction is just a vanity project?
12.02.2026 09:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And white storks?
11.02.2026 20:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is my go-to paper to point out that significant long-distance trade in wildlife is an ancient phenomenon- here macaws were traded from AD 700 from Meso into North America. Advocates of reintroductions of charismatic species based on sparse remains often conveniently overlook the role of trade.

07.02.2026 08:24 β π 34 π 10 π¬ 1 π 2I thought you might be interested in this as is relevant to objection to aims of NR3 - Nature Recovery Trees and Scrub. As you say it depends on location in respect to sensitive GNB areas, but as these maps/conclusions demonstrate native woodland regeneration and GNBs need not be mutually exclsuive.

05.02.2026 12:55 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Australiaβs land-use change is steadily shrinking and fragmenting native habitat, especially along the east coast and in the north.
Even where land isnβt fully cleared, fragmentation leaves wildlife more vulnerable to fire, heat and collapse β outpacing conservation efforts.
And relevance!
02.02.2026 11:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hi Tomβ¦ it was very tongue in cheek post β¦I will have zero to do with Reform. Wouldnβt touch em with a barge pole as sh1t sticks!
30.01.2026 19:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What??? I could advise #Reform too, but it wouldn't be on their nature policies but on the nature of their policies. eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com?url=https%3A...

25.01.2026 11:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I did read it. As soon as you posted it. It says "an exhaustive database of European ecological restoration initiatives". Isn't that a claim to being comprehensive? Just trying to understand what it gives us.
23.01.2026 18:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Out of how many surveys sent? How did you sample? Is it really "exhaustive"?

23.01.2026 12:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"The takeaway from our Norwegian colleagues is clear. We cannot turn back the clock to a time before human influence. "Rewilding" in the sense of abandoning management often leads to the loss of vulnerable species and the overgrowth of cherished landscapes."
Clear misunderstanding of rewilding.
