Terrific conference! I was apprehensive re the very full prog but longer refs breaks allowed a bit of time to find some quieter spaces to decompress. Thank you to all the presenters (5 mins slots a particular tour de force!) & everyone who responded to my questions with such grace & encouragement.

Thank you for the advice about Barn Owls and planning applications! I shall be contacting the local County Records Office pronto! I also got useful insights from a delegate about legal NE conditions that should kick in if the barn conversion proposals get approved (which they probably will).

I’m currently “birding by bike” on Ecovia Ria Formosa Portugal (not exclusively but most days) with incredible views eg these Spoonbills! And numerous other #waders.
