The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2024
The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2024 was awarded jointly to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun "for the discovery of microRNA and its role in post-transcriptional gene regulation"
Victor and Gary are just the smartest, nicest and most curiosity-driven scientists I know. This also highlights the importance of studying diverse organisms, and emphasizes how shortsighted it is to dismiss a finding because it has no 'relevance to human health'.

Unsure how to do threads here yet but here's our latest preprint from GS Tyler Hill π. He describes multiple feedforward and feedback mechanisms involving cGMP and Ca2+ that drive response adaptation on a timescale of mins in a single thermosensory neuron pair.
