Yes, the state has authorized the insurance companies to to raise rates to recoup losses. I think you are misunderstanding the context of the word “bailout” here.

FAIR plan is a private insurance plan, and taxpayer funds have never been allocated for it since its inception nearly 60 years ago. If they did not receive a bailout after the billion dollar Paradise fire, why would they for the recent billion dollar loss? Do you think this will be different?

So, based on your expert opinion. Will this be shouldered by the State (meaning socialized), or placed on the ratepayers (meaning capitalism)?
