They will just use lawyers to argue none of the available players met their target player profiles, not that they don't pick them because they were Pakistani.

There is also a question around if they will block British-born players of Pakistani origin...

Anyone in doubt—race is one of 9 'protected characteristics' within discrimination law (Equality Act 2010). "Race" for these purposes includes:
Race, Skin colour, Ethnic origins, Nationality, National origins
(There are other protected characteristics.)

The issue is proving intent to not hire.

Never mind the appalling politics of this, it is a massive conflict of interest if India end up controlling all of the franchises globally - they will literally be able to dictate availability of players to teams for other franchises and indeed for international teams.

Italy might not have gotten there in the end but boy did they put the wind up England there, and have absolutely announced they deserve to be on the big stage of world cricket.

They have also come a long way since I watched them beat Denmark in the Euro T20 Championships at Brighton in July 2013.

Well I thought 175 would have been interesting - in fact it may well have been an Italy win...

Those couple of overs have massively swung it back to England, and 200+ will be too many I suspect. But Italy bowled really well in the first 13-14, and a sub-175 score could have made it interesting.

Not gonna lie, Italy beating England at cricket would be amazing for the sport.
