Future of sika deer in question following invasive species classification Ireland must now devise a plan to control the growing numbers

Irelandโ€™s sika deer may face cull following โ€˜invasive speciesโ€™ classification Ireland must now devise a plan to control the growing numbers

This will be controversial for some, but sika deer populations are exploding in Kerry, Wicklow, Fermanagh and all over Ireland. Theyโ€™re a massive threat to the regeneration of forests everywhere.

So this is very good news.

Information can be hard to find about the increasing amount of great work going on in nature restoration/ecosystem recovery/rewilding in Ireland.

Iโ€™ve set up Wilder Ireland therefore, to showcase positive developments as I learn about them.
