but when put on a grander scale, it's becoming more difficult to feel like my time and effort is well spent. Given the difficulties of getting a teaching job with a PhD (long term goal), not to mention getting a job with an MA, I wonder if there is something more "productive" I could be doing...

Hate to stoke the politic-doomscrolling tendencies, but I'm hoping for some advice. For the folks in the academic humanities (especially my English folks), how do you rationalize the work you do given the current political climate? I sincerely don't mean that as an inflammatory question...

This is awesome. I've found that just being willing to have that conversation is huge. Sure, as you said, genAI has still been used in my undergrad and grad courses, but it seems like hearing the rationale against its use presented in a non-combative way is enough for many folks.
