This is Judith Collins' legacy - stripping away all social science, humanities, arts, and Māori-centered research funding in favor of a narrowly defined science. The old guard and their desperate need for (white) western ideologies to be embedded at all levels must be delighted.

Depressingly, this new one pool of research funding for all of NZ appears to be primarily focussed on R&D for new tech to make money for businesses, rather than the creation of new knowledge and interesting ideas. Does not augur well for NZ :/

A tragedy we see too often. Road works and other construction works creating unsafe situations for pedestrians and cyclists - creating barriers and forcing them into risky situations. We need far more training and regulation and punishment for those who put people at risk.

When, as a result of my driving abilities (FA), I drive my car into solid objects then my car suffers damage (FO). This makes me angry about the solid objects. Solid objects I drive my car into should be replaced by soft squishy objects, like cyclists, that will not damage my car when I hit them.
