Last week, I had the opportunity to present some of my Master’s research “Hydrodynamic Modeling for Oyster Farm Site Selection”, at the NC Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) Conference

I worry that the focus on NOAA's weather predicting value is ignoring the millions of other ways NOAA researchers enrich communities and local economies.
There are no oysters without NOAA. There are no blue crabs without NOAA. NOAA trains teachers. NOAA is the lifeblood of coastal communities.
🚨 #NOAA is essential for weather forecasting, climate research, and public safety.
AGU stands with the scientific community in urging Congress to protect and strengthen NOAA, not dismantle it.
Our economy, environment, and safety depend on it.

First time participating in the NCSU Krispy Kreme Challenge! 5 miles and 12 donuts (I could only get through 9) later, and I never want to see another donut again. Hopefully I’ll make the dozen next year.
