Today, we held Mountain View’s inaugural Pride event, reaffirming our city's commitment to be a Community for All.

I had a great weekend at the California Democratic Party Convention! I attended the Close the Gap California Party for Parity, got re-elected to my Northern Vice Chair Seat for the AAPI Caucus, and saw my friend, Deepa get elected to be the Vice Chair of the Party!

I got a bit overwhelmed with my day job and some of the more robust council meetings, so I feel behind on posting these agendas and summaries. Hopefully, things are getting back on track.

The Mountain View Coty Council will meet on May 27. It begins at 5:00pm with a closed session. This meeting is in person at City Hall, but you can also join the meeting online. Regular session begins at 6:30pm with a Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month Proclamation.

Heard from candidates running in San Jose; Attorney General @robbonta.bsky.social spoke on how CA is defending our rights + the need to get and stay involved. There was also a call to action on stopping deportations.

This involved mechanical commissioning and implementation of an all-electric hot water systems. The facility is the first electrified municipal aquatics center in California to include more than 10,000 sq. ft. of pool area.

💦 It was a long time coming, but we finally had our grand opening of our new aquatics center!

The planned summer 2024 opening of the Aquatics Center was delayed to March 2025 due to construction challenges.

Sharing some moments from my trip to Washington DC for National League of Cities. I served on the Community Economic Development Committee and I took the opportunity to advocate to my Senators and Representative for my City.

While external committees can be with councilmembers from our region, state or even on the national level. I'm currently on my way to the National League of Cities in DC to take part of in the Economic Development Committee to advocate to the Federal Government on our housing & local business needs.

City Councilmembers usually get Committee assignments based on what they are interested. Here are my committee assignments. Internal assignments like the Council Neighborhoods Committee are with two other Mountain View councilmembers.

A #throwbackthursday to this past Saturday when I did another ribbon cutting as the Vice Mayor. We welcomed Mission Binz which sells Amazon, Target, and retail returns and overstock. They start the week on Saturday with items on sale for $20 and then end it on $1 on Fridays.

In 1987, the California State Legislature set aside a day in March, Women’s History Month, to recognize women who are making an extraordinary difference in their communities. Every year, each State Senator and Assemblymember selects a leader in their district to honor.

Last night at the city council meeting, we were joined by Senator Becker virtually to announce that a great Mountain View Community Leader, Olga Melo was honored as the 2025 Woman of the Year for the State Senate District 13!

Vice Mayor duties! Yesterday, I had the opportunity to fill in for the mayor on some fun events: celebrating the awardees from the Daughters of the American Revolution essay and video contests and the grand opening of Mediterranean Grill’s new cafe - Sana'a.
