I enjoy playing the games of my youth. I do not miss loading a casette for 10 minutes only for it to crash at the end of the loading time.

I'm not especially interested in Draw Steel (we have high fantasy tactical skirmish games at home). But I really don't think that $70 for three lengthy corebooks with extensive colour art is an unreasonable pricepoint for PDFs.

Also don't fuck up good friendships because you get rejected. The friendship will likely last longer than any relationship anyway, especially in your twenties.

I do however believe that "All RPGs are about story" is the most dominant form of onetruewayism we see in the hobby today and it's proponents should be treated with the same mocking contempt we treating OSR people whining about new RPG players being "weak"

It's very noticable that the friends I made through roleplaying at uni I'm still frequently in contact with where the friends I made by taking drugs and going to indie clubs have almost all fallen by the wayside.

Our enemies would have us believe that we have no tradition of activism to draw from and that all struggles arrive from nowhere and are disconnected from each other.

Led to a meeting between local Anti Fascist Action and the Pink Panther people where contacts were made and we worked together on some stuff after that. (The SWP/ANL ignoed them, ofc.).

Pink Panther were a tiny group of activists in Brum but I think it's important we remember groups like that.

Pink Panther's big political impact was the open letter they wrote to the anti fascist movement accusing us (entirely fairly) of not working with the LGBT community enough.

Supported by "Birmingham Pink Panther" although enough time has passed that I can safely say that was basically just Punk Dave, whoever he was dating at the time and whoever he could drag along to help him sell the fanzine.

Historical note. While "Bash Back" were originally USA, there's also the largely (and sadly) forgotten "Queers Bash Back" from the UK, early to mid 90s. Mostly Manchester based. Some crossover with local Class War and the Homocult network I think.

True, but how much content is contained in those? Tropico 3 had DLC which had an entire new campaign, set of edicts, around 12 new buildings and an outfit. Modern Tropico DLC is generally a single mission and building, maybe an outfit.

Ghostbusters (licensed tie in with the movie, 1984) on the ZX Spectrum was £9.99. £32 in today's money. So AAA game prices have more than doubled if we compare them to the original home computers..

However there wasn't the same amount of DLC (some expansion packs, generally much more, well, expansive), pre order bonuses, microtransactions etc. So while I agree $85 is a fair price for a game, only if it's a game where that stuff comes with it. 25 years ago games were more like GOTY editions.
