There's a big difference between caring that a person has a relationship with the community they are asking to represent, and that being the only priority voters have.

Well there's not really going to be any policy difference between Biss and Kat. Can you really blame a community for then siding with the option they know and trust, who knows the community, its history, and its networks?

Biss is putting in the work, as mayor of Evanston. Which is just infinitely more meaningful to voters than putting in the work as a bluesky influencer.

People really don't like the way she parachuted into the race. I have a lot of lefty Evanston friends and family that feel strong opposition to Kat's candidacy in this race.
