Had a lovely time in Alnwick on Monday visiting @forumbookscorbridge's sister shop, The Accidental Bookshop - such a lovely shop with a great backstory. (You'll have to visit and ask...)
And while I was there, it would have been rude not to offer Helen a proof copy of The Hunters Club, wouldn't it?

Read On - The Audiobook Show from RNIB A weekly show all about audiobooks recorded at the RNIB Talking Book studios.

I had a great time talking to the lovely Robert Kirkwood for the the audiobook show Read On. We talked about about writing, my visually impaired protagonist in the Teifi Valley Coroner books, the Skeleton Army vs. the Salvation Army in 1882 Oxford, my writing method, and three very important books.

At a recent event with my Crime Cymru pal and fellow historical crime author @chrislloydauthor.bsky.social we were asked whether it's ok to get in touch with a writer to tell them you've enjoyed their book or whether it's a pain because then you have to reply.
Easy answer PLEASE BE IN TOUCH!!

Independent Bookshop of the Month: Backstory Our Bookshop of the Month for June is Backstory, a bookshop and bar in Balham, south London founded by ex-journalist Tom Rowley.

Having a bar running down the middle of a bookshop would, surely, make it the ideal space to hang out? Now ever so slightly wishing I lived in Balham...

Glorious time chairing an event with @fflurdafydd.bsky.social and Caryl Lewis last night at Bookish bookshop in Crickhowell. The House of Water and Bitter Honey are two of the most beautiful, emotionally charged and page-turning books you're likely to read this year.

@rhianejones.bsky.social is inciting this meeting to rebellion and @alishawkinsauthor.bsky.social is helping her with some gusto!

You'll hear us coming out of the darkness, just like the Rebecca Rioters.

Thank you for a stirring session, both - and to Harrisons Solicitors for sponsoring.

Just spent the bank holiday reading this (when I should have been writing, but hey, everybody needs a day off now and then) and it is BRILLIANT! If you don't know @vaseemkhanuk.bsky.social's work, then you have a treat in store - not just this but all the Malabar House books AND Inspector Chopra!

I'm OK, thanks for asking! You'd find my Oxford Mysteries series more cheerful, despite the fact that they're murder mysteries. And Myfanwy Alexander's Daf Dafis whodunnits are laugh-out-loud funny. And for a bit of WW2 Raymond Chandler-eque noir, try the fabulous @chrislloydauthor.bsky.social

It's hard to disagree with anything Molly Stubbs says in this @nation.cymru review of @fflurdafydd.bsky.social's mellifluous, insightful, thought-provoking novel. Definitely one of my books of the year already.
