17 years ago today, my friends and I were watching as Obama got elected, sobbing and chain-smoking cigarettes, waxing poetic about the first Black president.

In hindsight, it is a privilege to have believed in something so completely. I’ll never fault the person I was who believed in hope & change.

I thought at this point that nothing this criminal administration did could surprise me but this ... this blatant, gleeful, unnecessary desecration of the people's house is insane. he needs to be removed, along with his entire cabinet, and every single one of his appointees at every level.

my daughter's favorite soup is the one my grandmother used to make for me as a wee sprog. Corn chowder with chicken and bacon. while my daughter and my grandmother never met, this soup connects them, through me 😌🍛

My friend gave me a really excellent hug yesterday. one of those hugs that stays with you for days, makes you feel a little sturdier, a little more capable, and a lot more loved.
