Takes me back to my days listening to Radio Luxembourg. So long since I've heard that CCS song, I had to YouTube it to jog my memory.

All the first wave of 60's bands/producers/labels didn't really know how to make 'albums' when they were doing their debuts...hopefully that allows some jazz and others to sneak in.

A giant among American singer/songwriters, with demons to match.
For the sake of the song indeed.

An old fashioned term that we use -- luncheonette -It's such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Luncheonette- It says a restaurant with different things in it.

Jack Straw, Estimated Prophet Cornell 77. I know the whole Dead & Co thing was a bit of a cash grab in the end, but seeing them at Sphere, and experiencing the whole Shakedown Street scene for the first time was pretty big for me. Don't think the Dead ever played here in Edmonton.

John Prine went on to make decades of great music, but his 1971 debut is one of those perfect albums, and features one of the greatest songs ever written. 13 songs that could have been short stories, movies, novels, jokes, paintings...

Shone on Family of Man...among others. Still waiting for them to be rediscovered. Also waiting for a great band to do covers of lesser known songwriters like they did.
