For sure, I think that makes a lot of sense. Though, I wonder if Tom comes off as anti- Establishment as someone like Kim. But there's a reason why he got kinda cut out during redistricting.

I wouldn't underplay the fact that as Analilia's name rec grew, so did her support. She obviously had a left lane to run in but I think she persuaded some Dem party activist types as election day drew near.

This is harder to sus out, but I think there's a story to be told about how late Analilia's support starts coming in. I don't want to chalk it up to too much persuasion but in addition to just like progressives and Latinos, I think Dem party activists start to rally around her as her name rec grows

Turn out was huge though. It's an obscure election but I do think it's a sign that there could be something of a democratic tea party brewing.

Analilia is not just some activist. She helped passed 15 dollar an hour minimum wage and ran the working families alliance, the precursor to the njwfp. She has deep roots in the state and will be a fighter for working people.

Here's the thing: no Ds actually bothered to establish the record of Trump I after the fact. There was never even a simple list of all the bad shit he did from a D perspective. Jan 6 happened and Biden admin and the Party at-large decided to just work on passing bills.

New Yorkers who work on specific issues now have to contend with the fact that every criticism of Hochul is now up against Zohran's credibility and trust after his endorsement. He has chosen to make the budget session harder and a much worse terrain for advocacy with this early endorsement.

This is the best criticism I've seen of the move. I guess we'll see how it plays out in practice but definitely puts the cost benefit of such an early endorsement in a different light.

I think folks are over correcting in response to the will stancil discourse. OWS is an important moment for the US left, and I'd argue that there are direct links to how OWS was organized to the success in MN. Plenty to push back against the folks coming after will, but let's not rewrite history.
